How I Will and Will Not Deal with Today

This is a day many of us have been dreading. Here is what I will and will not do today.

I will revel in the gloriousness of nature, even just the frost-covered spider webs shimmering in the trees in my yard.

I will not watch any coverage of the new regime being sworn into office.

I will write and work and work out and love on my Olive dog.

I will not live this day in fear.

I will spend at least some time imagining the better world I’d like to be part of creating.

I absolutely will not listen to the inaugural address.

I will protect my mental and emotional state today.

I will take some moments to appreciate a truly great American, MLK, and the positive change he helped create.

I will remember that in the field of possibilities it is possible that these times will be a catalyst toward the shift in systems and consciousness we are so in need of – an opening to weaving a better way forward.

I will take a break from the grim today.

I will not let the bastards, or my own mind, take me down their lane of chaos and destruction.

Tomorrow I will get back into the fray, as part of the huge movement that will not roll over and let the darkness have its way.

For Fans of Olive (AKA the Amazing Livvy Lane)

A very young Olive crashed out on Foxie after agility camp.

Many of you readers report that you enjoy watching Olive do her thing at agility trials. Some have even said it brings them joy (it certainly does for me!). And, since joy and Hallelujah Anyway are aspects of building a better life and world below are a couple of short vids. for anyone who’s interested.

This was our best Masters Jumpers with Weaves run.

And here was a very good FAST run. In the FAST event the dog has to do a sequence of obstacles at a distance of 15 - 20 feet away from the handler. In this course Olive needed to do the tunnel then loop around do the tunnel again and then the A-frame. Though it doesn’t show well in the vid, there is a yellow ribbon on the ground around those obstacles that I had to stay behind while Livvy did her thing.
