You Cannot Make This Up
Swamp-Thing hires Green Water to clear up Actual Green Water
As I previously shared, the Trump Reflecting Pool fiasco is a perfect mirror of the swampiest president and regime this country has ever suffered. The situation just continues to get crazier. It is a sad and disgusting reflection of the incompetency and corruption currently occupying the White House.
The $14.7 million dollar taxpayer funded Trump ego/vanity project to paint the reflecting pool “American Flag Blue” has failed in utterly embarrassing, yet predicted, fashion. The pool is now pea green with algae blooms and the blue paint liner is peeling off in sheets.
Doing what he has always done when his own failure became evident and humiliating, Trump created a fake enemy. He is now claiming liberal vandals turned the water green and cut knife slashes into the $14 million paint job. The regime has not provided one shred of evidence to support those claims. Spending yet more of our money, he ordered the National Guard and Park Police to go in and arrest people near the pool. They arrested and handcuffed a 67-year-old, former U.S. Olympian who was examining a strip of the peeling paint. David Hearn had ridden his bike to the pool to see firsthand what was happening.
A park worker told him not to reach into the water. He stopped, let go, and walked back to his bike. And then, according to his accounts to multiple media sources, he was swarmed by National Guard troops, detained for five hours, and arrested by Park Police. He was charged with destruction and defacing of government property and disobeying a government employee.
Hearns said, “I’m a curious citizen. I reached down to see what it felt like. It was very rubbery.” … “I didn’t vandalize anything. I didn’t destroy or break or peel anything. By the time I realized what was going on, I was being put in handcuffs.” And: “There’s nothing about the Reflecting Pool that was in any different condition after I left there than it had before I went by there.”
Here’s what’s really going on while this former Olympian curious citizen was being arrested for checking out an infrastructure project he helped pay for.
In April Trump announced the pool clean-up would cost approximately $2 million. Claiming urgency due to the upcoming 250th anniversary of America, Trump went against federal contracting standards and issued several no-bid contracts.
The first was to a sealant company. The sealant contract alone has mushroomed to $14.7 million. According to the New York Times, the contractor was given an unusual 20% profit margin. The total project cost is creeping toward $16 million and is being partially paid for out of the Recreation Enhancement Fee Program, which is a fund built from the entrance fees we all pay to visit national parks.
Another no-bid contract was given for waterproofing to a Virginia firm called Atlantic Industrial Coatings — a company whose prior relevant experience was doing pool work at Trump’s golf club resorts. It was the company’s first-ever federal contract.
The third no-bid contract really does fall into the “you just can’t make this stuff up” category. The contract for the algae control system was given to a man named John Cafaro. He’s the guy in the pic at the top of this article. Yep, that wholesome looking fella.
And. This. Is. Just. Too. Much. His company is named Green Water Services. The $1.7 million no-bid contract to install the pool’s “nanobubble” ozone algae-killing system to prevent green water went to a company called Greenwater.
Cafaro is a mall-development heir whose father left the family around $800 million. He lives near Mar-a-Lago and has poured over $300,000 into Trump-connected political committees. He has felonies for attempting to commit illegal bribery, making a materially false statement to the federal government and concealing an illegal loan to his daughter’s congressional campaign. He pled guilty. Trump has called him a “fantastic man.”
Cafaro’s defense of the algae laden pool is that his green water system worked because it flushed underground algae into the pool. So, a company named “Greenwater”, run by a felon convicted for lying to the government, gets a couple million dollars to prevent algae from turning the water green. Then, when the water turns green anyway, he calls it a success. No wonder Trump likes him. They’re cut from similar cloth. How many times has Trump said if you say something and keep repeating it long enough, regardless of facts, people will start believing it.
Well, here are some facts. The egos and incompetence of this regime are costing all of us dearly in both money and wellbeing. Citizens have a right to check out infrastructure projects that we are paying for. The true vandal is Trump! He has torn up our people’s house and national mall in horrific fashion.
The slime issue in the reflecting pool is nothing compared to the slimy characters who are currently at the helm of this country, and those scavenging around them, raking in billions at the expense of all the rest of us.
The reflecting pool and our agreement with Iran have something in common. Though both had problems before, they are far more f__ed up now that Trump got his swamp-thing hands on them.
We the people need to keep calling out this BS for what it is, standing strong, and getting prepared via boycotts, lawsuits, elections, and taking to the streets to drain the slimy Trump/Project 2025 swamp, the stench of which is enough to burn our nose hairs.

I hadn't heard the part about Green Water. Rich. Swamp creatures are coming out in such number it's like something out of Jurassic Park.
